NLC Trucks reach Dushanbe

Continuing its endeavor to enhance regional trade through efficient transportation, the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has expanded its reach to include another pivotal country in Central Asia.

Traversing a distance of over 1400 kilometers, a convoy of NLC trucks arrived in the capital city of Dushanbe, transporting potatoes in refrigerated containers. Originating from Okara and Rahim Yar Khan, the perishable cargo embarked on NLC reefer trucks, completing its journey to Dushanbe in seven days only.

 To commemorate the inaugural convoy's arrival under the Transport Internationaux Routiers (TIR) system, a ceremony was held at Dushanbe Customs Terminal One. The event was attended by notable figures including Mr. Azim Ibrohim, the Tajik Minister of Transport, Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao, Director-General of NLC, Pakistan's Ambassador to Tajikistan Muhammad Saeed Sarwar, officials of the customs department and members of the Tajik business community.

Addressing the ceremony, the Tajik Minister of Transport lauded the formal initiation of land-based transportation by Pakistan's leading logistics organization, hailing it as a significant milestone in the bilateral trade relations between the two nations. He underscored Pakistan's pivotal role as a key trading partner in the region, expressing confidence that such initiatives would further strengthen the trade ties between the two countries. He assured unwavering support in facilitating the smooth transit of Pakistani trucks to Tajikistan.

Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao emphasized Tajikistan's importance as an important destination for the NLC. He extended gratitude to the Tajik Government for their cooperation in facilitating the movement of the NLC convoy. Maj Gen Rao emphasized that NLC's transportation services under the TIR regime would offer cost-effective and time-efficient logistics solutions to exporters and importers of both countries, thereby fostering bilateral trade. He highlighted NLC's pivotal role as a key player in establishing regional connectivity, citing its extensive operations spanning across 10 countries in the region.
