NLC and DP World Enter into Historic Collaboration to Revolutionize Logistics Sector

National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World have entered into partnership with the formation of two Joint Venture Companies (JVCOs) to bring specialized expertise in logistics and freight operation.

            To commemorate this partnership, a launch ceremony was held in Karachi. H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman & CEO of DP World was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was attended by senior officials of NLC and DP World, govt officials, and members of the wider business community.

            Addressing the ceremony, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, said: “At DP World, we are committed to providing unmatched end-to-end supply chain solutions and facilitating the seamless flow of trade worldwide. With the NLC’s regional expertise and trade connections, combined with DP World’s robust infrastructure capabilities and expansive supply chain networks, our partnership is set to redefine trade dynamics in the region.”

            He remarked that the partnership between NLC and DP World has catalyzed the rapid development of modern logistics parks in Pakistan. Additionally, the shipment of containers from Jebel Ali Port to Karachi and other ports in the region has already been started, marking a significant milestone in trade facilitation.

             The partnership between the two organizations will revolutionize the logistics industry by introducing world-class standards and best practices. Through its comprehensive approach, this cooperation will address critical challenges such as inefficiencies in supply chain management, while unlocking new opportunities for businesses to scale," he added.

            During his welcome address DG NLC, shared his perspective, stating: "NLC is proud to join hands with DP World in this groundbreaking venture. Together, we will drive innovation and enhance Pakistan’s position as a regional trade hub. The partnership will bring substantial Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and create a lot of job opportunities in the country.”

             By strengthening infrastructure and connectivity, the partnership will facilitate smoother trade flows, reduce transportation costs, and provide Pakistani businesses with greater access to international markets, he added.

            The Joint Venture Companies have been named as Logistics JVCo and Road Freight JVCo. The Logistics JVCo will take the lead in developing innovative logistics services, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices to optimize supply chain efficiencies. The Road Freight JVCo will focus on transforming road transport operations, boosting connectivity within Pakistan and building regional trade linkages with neighbouring countries and beyond.

This collaboration will serve as a catalyst for economic growth, strengthening trade and connectivity while paving the way for a prosperous future for Pakistan and the region.
